Introduction
In August 2007, Innovation thru Energy (ITE) was formed in partnership with the Industrial Technology Research Institute in Taiwan to market, and sell the leading edge innovative energy saving technology that is based on maintaining a 'constant' temperature over an extended period of time
The technology has already been proven successful in Taiwan, and the Innovation thru Energy has been tasked with globalizing the 'constant' temperature technology, as well as, extending the applications from beyond the current food preservation sector to the new areas such as life science, military, flowers and air cargo.
This 'constant' temperature technology is named 'Intelligent Preservation
System' (IPS). It uses the latest RFID IT technology that optimizes the
e-Commerce's online logistics inventory management. The 'Intelligent Preservation
System' (IPS) achieves a dramatic improvement in the value chain while

What is Innovation thru Energy's (ITE) competitive advantage? 1. ITE is the only proven system in the world that allows multiple food products with different
temperature requirements (to maintain food quality & safety) to be
transported on a common carrier truck.
2. ITE is the Only proven system in the world that maintains constant temperature
for +24 hours.
3. IPS) is protected by 31 patents filed by ITRI. ITE will concentrate on expanding the number of patents surrounding the (IPS) system, which will make it harder for the competition to enter the market.
4. The operating cost of (IPS) is more than 50% less expensive than the traditional
system of using the freezer trucks and the refrigerator trucks. This will
allow the logistics companies to use the savings to buy more common carrier
trucks with the same amount of money that they currently spend on the refrigerated
& freezer trucks.
5. Allows logistic companies using the (IPS) to reduce yearly fuel consumption by more than 35% as compared to the traditional system. This saves significant money, as well as reduces pollution.
6. The (IPS) has already been proven and successful in Taiwan. This will allow (ITE) to focus its energy on sales and marketing, and customization in the new markets. Therefore, the operation costs will be much lower than as compared to the competitors. (All accounting and legal fees etc.. will also be out sourced)
7. (ITE) will outsource all manufacturing of the (IPS), thereby not tying up investment in the capital equipment, and also keeping the staff to a minimum. This keeps the overhead lower than that of the competitors.
8. (ITE)'s close partnership with (ITRI) allows the entire R&D to be
done by ITRI (with NRE to be paid by the end customers for the customization
of their existing commercial cooler boxes to maximize the efficiency of
the (ITRI) cold plates). This allows ITE to minimize the development expenses
due to (ITRI). ITE has all the test equipment and a facility already in
place to develop new products.
Richard Kuo, (Deputy General Director of ITRI) is the inventor of the (IPS),
and he is also the technical advisor for (ITE). Therefore, we have strong
expertise regarding the current products, as well as, an available experienced
R&D team that works under Richard Kuo's supervision to develop new
products for the new markets. With the right R&D team already in place;
(ITE) can focus on extending the hours of the cold plates that already
have a competitive advantage.

How big is the (IPS) opportunity for (ITE)?
Innovation thru Energy will be entering multiple markets, and each one poses a significant market opportunity. For example there are only 30,000 refrigerated trucks in the whole of China. With the (IPS) the Chinese distribution companies can use common carrier trucks. This allows them to deliver food, medicine etc without buying new trucks. In addition to this the USA has 280,000 refrigerated trucks, and with the distribution companies gradually switching over to the (IPS) they can avoid paying up to three times for a new refrigerated truck vs. a traditional truck that can now do the same job for local deliveries. Another huge opportunity is supplying cold plates and boxes for the vaccines and medicines in partnership with the World Health Organization.
